Gavin Zastrow, known to many as Z, is a teacher at Stone Bank School in Stone Bank, Wisconsin, where he has worked for many years. He received his Bachelor's in Education from Miami University in Ohio and his Master's in Administrative Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He also obtained his Reading 316 and 317 licenses from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Gavin has lived in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, for most of his life, and enjoys reading, sports, spending time on Okauchee Lake, and being with his family.

It not only takes you on Gavin’s journey it is also a powerful message on how YOU matter to other people – people you may not even realize that you touched their life in some way. Gavin Zastrow's diary and reflections about a high school friend that committed unexpected suicide is a thoughtful and introspective portrayal of the way many young people must feel when an event like this occurs. His approach is direct and the questions that a young person must ask about their feelings and the feelings of others impacted by such an event are well worth reading.
