I am going through this book with a Church Leadership Coach, and we are also using with that leadership coach in our Church. We've found the book helpful on a couple of fronts: The description of the levels of Leadership has helped us as a Church to understand what it takes to build into people, to develop them and help them influence those around them. The ideas surrounding prioritization has really helped because it has forced the elders and the leadership board of my Church to see what my roles and tasks really are, and where I need to focus on so that they can lead well and we can impact our community. We do find though that the book rests to much on older examples, and doesn't do the job it could do in translating to the 21st century. It is a bit dated and it shows.

The undisputed leadership authority continues to ratchet up his own game and lead by example! John C. Maxwell revised 89% of the original version of this book because he continues to Test, Fail, Learn, Improve & Re-enter the growth process! This book is for all leaders, seasoned leaders and aspiring leaders alike! If you’re a mentor or a mentee, this book is for you! Excellent resource for any congregation that is trying to rebuild and gain new members. My husband and I are part of the Transition team at our church, looking for a new Pastor. Our previous Pastor retired and the congregation began to shrink dramatically. Within a few months of dedicated work, we have noticed a great renewal of membership. A must have for any faith.

I'm a big fan of personal development and I'd encourage everyone to add this book to your library! An excellent read by the incredible author and leader John C. Maxwell. So many great points and practical things that can help you become a better leader in whatever you do.

John C. Maxwell is obviously a internationally known, bestselling author, and it truly showed in this book. Though he shared some of his Christian values, I believe this book caters to anyone who wants to become a better leader. His organization is wonderful and even highlights some of the most important quotes. I did not feel like a single word of his was wasted. Pick this up! Amazing book.
