I like this simple book. The vellum pages are perfect to transfer images. So far I tried only one painting. Took me longer than expected, but I really enjoyed the process. There are seems to be some gaps in steps. It was not a problem to me though.I saw a lady painting first time in her life from this book and it turned out nice.I think you need to know a basic watercolor knowledge if you wish to make your painting beautiful.

I have about four of these "Ready to Paint" books and they are all great. Beautiful drawings, beautiful color photos, step by step instructions with photos of each step. The only problem I have with them, that I think most newbie or hobby painters might also have, is that the drawings are huge! It's quite daunting to paint something so large when you're learning about watercolor.I found a great solution, though. I removed the line drawings and took them to Staples and had them all reduced to a 5 x 7 size. That cost about $ .10 each! Now I have a much more manageable size to paint, put in a nice color mat, and be able to easily mail them to friends for gifts. If the large size scares you or doesn't come out the way you want, try reducing the size. Watercolor is much simpler when you start small.Liz

I had been looking for black line drawing to use for learning watercolor painting. This book has fantastic drawing for tracing to watercolor paper. There are some drawings that do not have instructions, but that it okay. The only thing negative that I could say is that I think the author could have provided a few more photos of the step-by-step painting process for the examples in the book. She would mention to paint something that might not not have the photo example. Other than that, it is fantastic!I will be purchasing more of the books from this publisher under the "Ready to Paint" to paint series where it has that little green box in the upper left corner that says FREE Tracings Inside. I am so excited to have found this book and to know that there are others out there.

I am a proponent of learning a new skill through studying masters and daily practice. After sizing up to A4 (9 x 12") this summer, I wanted some practice with composition at the larger size. This book is a series of master lessons as well as bonus tracing vellums for other art sprinkled throughout the book. Highly recommended for learning purposes. The ability to easily create a sophisticated piece is a huge confidence booster, too. All of the traceable art is on Vellum, which works beautifully with a light table. Do yourself a favor and buy the AGPTEK light table in A4 size to avoid tracing frustration!

I bought this book online. I have not been painting for very long and found the drawings that are included in the book to be very helpful. Wendy Tait's explanations are easy to understand. I am currently in the process of doing one of the paintings in the book. I would not hesitate to buy other of her books. The book was reasonably priced. Would recommend this book to others.

I was first introduced to this concept by the Creative Artist Club where they send you all the stuff needed to create one of these paintings each month. It was great, but $30 per month for one painting is not economical. Now I have found the "Ready to Paint" series and I am creating beatiful paintings just like an artist. The book comes with the line drawings--you just have to trace them using carbon paper (best results) or pencil (softer lines) and follow the detailed instructions for completing the painting. My friend calls it 'advanced paint by number'! My pictures have been good enough to frame and hang on the wall. I have done the Poppies and the clemetis so far--both beatiful--and a landscape from another in the 'Ready to Paint' series. If you have always wanted to be a watercolor painter but have limited drawing and painting skills (like me) give this process a try. You will be amazed at the results.

I saw this book Watercolour Flowers at the library,,and just loved it.It gave me the predrawn picture and very detailed information on how to paint it.So I orderd it from Amazon and was very pleased with my purchase. The tracing is simple to do, just follow the directions. My two pictures came out great for a novice painter, but I will go back and make another copy to improve my techiniques.Practice ,practice. All in all it is a great book for having fun with watercolors .There are many books in this Ready to Paint series, it's worth looking into them.

Beautiful pictures suitable for coloring with pencils or washing with watercolors. Pretty enough to fram when done.
