For a book that specifically mentions "pub trivia," there is relatively little to do with sports, though there is an abundance of questions about houses of couture and American R&B groups. I would classify the questions, overall, as moderate-to-difficult; my average is a little over three correct out of the five questions per set. With 78 sets of questions, this is a good value. However, I quickly found an error due to poor wording: the Eiffel Tower predates New York's Chrysler Building by 41 years; therefore the Chrysler Building cannot have been the world's tallest building BEFORE the Eiffel Tower was constructed.

Bill O'Neill is the best writer that I know of trivia books. He published quite a few of them, and I read and enjoyed all of them. They are filled with fascinating, eye-opening, instructive information told in an easy to read, often humorous fashion.This book has 78 nostalgic quizzes that are followed on the next page by the answers. Whether one is able to figure out the answers before turning the page is almost irrelevant since reading the questions and answers themselves, the test aside, is great fun. But testing our skills to see how many answers we can anticipate is also fun. The book can be used for a fun evening with friends and family. It is a very good book to have and read.While Bill O’Neill gives lots of information before asking his question, very briefly stated a few of his quizzes ask: Who killed President Lincoln? What is the name of the southern city nicknamed “The Big easy”? and Who was the baseball player called “The Sultan of Swat”?

Out of 78 quizzes there were only 3 where I knew all 5 answers. I learned a lot reading the questions and discovering the correct answers. My only criticism is that toward the end of the book the quizzes became single subject instead of touching on a variety of subjects. The single subject nature of the later quizzes made them repetitive and boring in comparison to the earlier parts of the book.

Love this book! It has kept me entertained for hours and greatly added to my knowledge of all things trivia.

Took this on a trip with me and my partner and I had tons of fun while we were waiting for things... Also a great conversation starter if needed.
